We Rolled around NWI today to complete a classic South Shore banner pic.

The Banner: Vintage Northwest Indiana

It was a beautiful day in Northwest Indiana today. The morning had all the marks of a great Second Sunday. Lately We've been lazy with 2S, because of the Dispatch options. Winter is coming, so we wanted to get out and do a few banners before the weather changes.
We decided to keep it fairly close to home with one I've been meaning to get around to, based on the classic South Shore poster. If you are from the Region, or have passed through you are probably familiar with the artwork. It is everywhere, and it's one of my favorites. Entitled, “The Dunes Beaches” was painted at a Lake Michigan beach by Hazel Brown Urgelles in the summer of 1925.
There's a great post on Facebook from the Indiana Dunes National Park about rediscovering the model in the picture, want to know more? See it here.

Ingress2S Intel:
Before you head out for your Ingress2S:
There are missing portals on this banner set, but they don't hinder completion. It should be noted that there are passphrases in the form of riddles. They are for the most part not too tough, and google can help if you really can't figure them out.
You'll definitely need a vehicle, this one covers some turf. The starting few mission sets are pretty terrible in and outs of parking lots, along Route 30, all turning left. It does get better, so don't get too discouraged.
The whole banner is mostly cargress-able, but there are a handful of times that you are going to have to get out. Namely in Munster's Centennial Park, where it should also be noted that parking is two bucks. It's a nice park, well worth it.

Bannergress was about correct on the time estimate, it did end up taking around five hours to complete. Towards the end make sure to check out the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond for some very clean restrooms and great information on the state and Region, and of course a gift shop.
